'Always Dream' like her sister, 'Always Hope'. is dependable in providing large colorful swaths in the garden.  Her semi-double pink blooms open to reveal the bright golden stamens.  Her informal cascading habit can spill over large pots or create stunning specimens for all to enjoy.

‘Always Hope’ was named by an long-time ARE employee and cancer survivor. This daily mantra brought her comfort. This rose is certainly one of substance as she blooms prolifically and bears a bounty of hips. This landscape showpiece is ideally suited for large containers or massed in the back of a border where a splash of color is needed.

This compact shrub of three to four feet is very carefree. 'Ann's Beautiful Daughter' flowers throughout the growing season and is ideally suited for container planting. The lineage of this rose is 'Heritage' and 'Old Blush'.

'Anson Jones' is quickly becoming a favorite with visitors to our display gardens. The plants are upright to five feet with semi-double, three-inch creamy yellow flowers that change in intensity. It is a worthy selection to bear the name of the last president of the Republic of Texas. Its parents are ‘Carefree Beauty’ and ‘Mrs. Oakley Fisher’.

'Belinda's Blush' is a color sport of one of our favorite roses, 'Belinda's Dream'. Similar in size and growth habit, this rose offers fragrant, full blooms of a light, creamy pink that are excellent for cutting. Canes free of thorns are always appreciated.

"Bleeds Maroon" is a compact yet open shrub that grows 3 to 4 feet. The rose-red single to semi-double blooms has random streaks of white, pink, and rose. As the rose ages, the rose-red coloration darkens to maroon. The petals of this eye-catching rose lie flat to expose the crown of golden stamens in the center. This bold rose will add drama to any garden.

'Brazos Belle' is a very showy shrub to five feet with double orange/pink flowers that repeat throughout the season.  This rose is ideally planted as a border specimen.  

This is a Pioneer rose bred by Mike Shoup honoring the historic area of the Brazos Valley where the land grant university of Texas A&M is located.

Light pink buds open to clusters of pure white, two inch, single flowers that are borne in such profusion, making this rose the ultimate landscape rose. This prolific blooming rose creates the perfect showstopper for small borders while attracting bees and butterflies as it naturalizes in our beds. This hardy rose can reach 4 feet wide while only 2 feet tall but looks its best when kept at 2 feet.  'Butterfly Bliss' can also be planted in a large container if spaces is limited.

'Caroline Hunt' is a large, chunky shrub with a relaxed growth habit. The flowers are heavy on the bush much like bells. It blooms throughout the growing season. Lineage consists of 'Francis Dubreuil', 'Carefree Beauty' and 'Old Blush'

'Coles Settlement' is a large six-foot shrub that exhibits single white flowers that can reach four inches across in cool weather. Flowers are followed by large orange hips in the fall. This is a wonderful rose to plant where you can enjoy its reflective flowers at dusk or on moonlit evenings. Coles Settlement was one of the earliest communities in Independence, TX. (circa 1820).

'Crawfish Étouffée’ is a special rose that resulted from hybridizing two award-winning and fragrant parents, the Meilland rose ‘Dee-Lish’ and the David Austin rose ‘Lady of Shallot’. The inspiration for the name came from our breeder Andrew, as he is from Southern Louisiana. The color is a unique red with hints of russet orange and resembles boiled crawfish in appearance. The fragrance is fittingly floral and spicy, and the foliage is reminiscent of bay leaves, which are an essential ingredient in Cajun cuisines. Combined together, the overall effect will take your senses to the New Orleans French Quarter, where sounds of traditional Jazz music and smells of good cookin’ fill the air.

The growth habit of 'Crawfish Étouffée' strongly resembles ‘Lady of Shallot’ with loose, informal, and graceful architecture when fully established. If we consider the parentage of ‘Crawfish Étouffée’, ‘Dee-Lish’ is cold hardy to zone 5a, and ‘Lady of Shallot’ has been reported to be cold hardy to zone 4 in Finland. Therefore, we assume that ‘Crawfish Étouffée’ will be cold hardy to at least zone 5. ‘Crawfish Étouffée’ blooms from Spring until frost throughout the season and possesses the disease resistance of its parent ‘Dee-Lish’.

After meeting strict color and fragrance guidelines, this rose was selected and named by the international Delta Gamma Fraternity. This enchanting rose has large flowers in blushed tones of cream, yellow, and apricot that contain an exquisite fragrance. It bears clean foliage and produces excellent cut flowers.

This Pioneer rose, 'Diane Grace', shows all the great garden qualities of disease resistance, fragrance, and vigor on a large, thick shrub to six feet. Three-inch yellow flowers are produced year-round. Slightly curled, dark green leaves create unusual texture. Breeding lines of this rose include ‘Graham Thomas’, ‘Mrs. Oakley Fisher’ and ‘Carefree Beauty’.

'Doreen's Centennial' is seldom out of bloom. Named after a benefactor of the Herman Park Garden Restoration effort in Houston Texas, it serves as a perfect tribute to the improvements. Loosely cascading plants covered in pom pom-like flowers perform beautifully in informal mixed borders. This rose is ideally suited for containers as well.

The large three-inch single yellow flowers of 'Englemann's Quest' reminds us of wildflowers. This rose is best used in a perennial border where the flowers flutter in the wind. Because of its compact size, it can also be used very effectively in containers for the patio. George Engelmann was a German-born, American doctor who collected plants in Texas.

'F. J. Lindheimer' produces a very bright colored yellow-orange rose on an upright four foot bush. The yellow-orange flowers are produced in rapid succession, rarely being out of bloom. Colors change in intensity due to seasonal temperatures. Leaves are uniquely curved giving the plant added texture. Ferdinand Lindheimer, a 1800's German botanist, lived in Texas and collected plants for thirty years.

Like a Medusa, this lovely rose will seduce all those who see her.  Full, hot pink colored and heavy perfumed blooms are held high on an upright shrub.  ‘Femme Fatale®’  begs to be cut and displayed in a proper vase.   This rose has shown to be backspot and mildew resistant.

Fragrant Blush is a revolution in the category of fragrant roses. A true thoroughbred, it comes from a cross of two extremely fragrant roses, ‘Dee-Lish’ and ‘Scepter’d Isle®’. Additionally, with ‘Heritage’ and ‘Graham Thomas’ as grandparents you can’t go wrong. What makes Fragrant Blush special is that it is extremely heat tolerant. Even with Texas summers and a heat index of 115°F, this rose remains powerfully fragrant, while other white and light pink roses melt in the sun.

Gideon Lincecum's' best quality is its very dark foliage that acts as a foil to its single white flowers. Plants attain heights to six feet but are very bushy and thick. Few thorns and lots of hips make it even more attractive. This rose was named after Gideon Lincecum, a 1800's plant collector.
